Our Story
We just recently reopened with new hours after nearly closing down our new storefront after relocating March 2020. Like many small businesses, we never received any assistance during the shutdown; we were “too small” for a small business, so 100% of our profits went to barely just keeping our doors open. We wouldn't be here without the support from each person as well as many of our neighbors in Downtown, Auburn CA. We will never forget our first 100 patients/customers who saved us from closing. No purchase was ever too small, and we are grateful to those who referred others to us, shared our posts, or simply called us to lift our spirits.
We put everything we have into this business as a means to advocate for Independent Opticianry and patient care. Ordering eyeglasses is more than just the product itself; it’s about the fitting, measuring, adjusting and troubleshooting by an experienced Optician to ensure you can see properly. We see companies pushing drop shipped eyewear from China & “blue light” glasses, selling them on Ebay and Amazon, stating they’re comparable to what you’d find at an optician location. These are all false advertising. We’ve inspected and verified glasses from many online sites, opticals, and optometry, and we know that cheap glasses that are the equivalent of dollar store glasses are NOT the same. The amount of effort that goes into handmade well crafted eyewear with quality parts is not the same as mass produced cheap eyewear. False advertising with the intent to bait consumers on this premise is what we are fighting against. This is why we carry top of the line eyewear as well as affordable options to show our patients the difference in quality, weight, design, material, and comfort. Once you try on actual high quality eyewear, you’ll understand the marketing gimmicks out there are simply gimmicks.
Be the Change - Support Small Businesses
We understand wholeheartedly what it means to other local small businesses doing their best to survive and compete with high volume, big box monopolies. You might save a little bit of money here and there, but if small businesses had the advantage of high volume chains with millions to spend on advertising, commercials, paid sponsors, paid influencers, and paid reviews, they too would be able to offer extremely low prices. Many of our neighbors are amazing humans who deserve to have lines out the door. Be a part of the change and keep your business local or support small businesses looking at simply putting food on the table and keeping a roof over their heads.
Please come out and support small businesses this holiday season.
